Jorge Olides del Río Martinez (Guapo)

Jorge (better known as ‘Guapo’), is a dancer from Santiago de Cuba and was awarded the title as professional dancer in musical shows in 2012. From 2003 to 2015 he worked as a dancer and teacher for the show company 'Sabor DKY' (until 2006 known as dance group 'casino.com' and at present called 'Sabor de Calle'). In 2010 he was one of the protagonists of 'Sabor DKY' on a tour of 3 months through Europe, where he gained his first international experience. He participated as a dancer and teacher in festivals and international congresses for casino and other Cuban dances in France, Poland, Luxembourg among others.

 

In 2015 he moved to Havana and worked as an instructor at the dance schools 'Salsabor a Cuba' and 'Baila Habana' in Havana and as a dancer and teacher of the dance company 'Tierra Kaliente'. With this show group he went on 3 tours through Europe, each time during 2 months (March to May in 2017, 2018 and 2019). At these occasions he was invited to perform as show dancer and to hold workshops as dance instructor in the festival 'Viva Cuba' organized by 'Dance4Two' in the Netherlands. He also used the opportunity to visit other countries and to participate in further international festivals, events or workshops in the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Spain. Moreover, he also went to the dance festival 'Agua' in Colombia twice (2017 and 2018) and participated in most editions of the Salsa Festival organized by 'Dance4Two' in Santiago de Cuba from 2016 to 2018. 

 

Since December 2018 he works in his dance school 'Salsa con Clase' that he founded together with George (Batule), his friend and formerly also a fellow dancer at 'Tierra Kaliente'. He also continues working with the show group 'Tierra Kaliente'.

Jorge (Guapo), Daiana and Ernesto (Pucho) participating in a Rueda de Casino choreo of the dance company 'Sabor DKY' that was published in 2015 and is still very popular in Social Media. 'Sabor DKY' (now renamed to 'Sabor de Calle') is led by Yanek Revilla who is seen by many as one of the best dancers in the world. He has won many dance competitions in and outside Cuba and his choreo-graphies at festivals and congresses are of the highest level. Many people classify this Rueda de Casino as the most creative, complex, original and well executed one they have seen in their life.

George Ibar Veranes (Batule)

George (also called ‘Batule’) graduated with a degree in Physical Education and Sports from the University of Sports 'Manuel Fajardo' in Santiago de Cuba. He started dancing at the age of 8 years in a dance group of his neighborhood, performing in the traditional carnival celebrations in Santiago de Cuba. After his graduation and for several years, he was part of the cast of the dance company 'All Stars', where he gained a vast experience as a dancer and dance instructor for popular Cuban dances. With 'All Stars' he also participated as a dancer and dance teacher in several international festivals and workshops in various cities in France in 2014 and in the United States of America in March 2015.

 

He has obtained further experience as a freelance dance teacher for several years and worked as dance instructor at the dance schools 'Sandunga' in Santiago de Cuba, as well as 'Salsabor a Cuba' and 'Baila Habana' in Havana.

 

He also was a dancer and teacher of the dance company 'Tierra Kaliente' (from its start in December 2015 to end of 2018). With 'Tierra Kaliente' he went on 2 tours through Europe, each time during 2 months (March to May 2017 and 2018). At both occasions he was invited to perform as show dancer and to hold workshops as dance instructor in the festival 'Viva Cuba' organized by 'Dance4Two' in the Netherlands. He also used the opportunity to visit other countries and to participate in further international festivals, events or workshops in the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Spain. Moreover, he also went to the dance festival 'Agua' in Colombia twice (2017 and 2018) and participated in most editions of the Salsa Festival organized by 'Dance4Two' in Santiago de Cuba from 2016 to 2018.

 

Since December 2018 he works in his dance school 'Salsa con Clase' that he founded together with Jorge (Guapo), his friend and fellow dancer at 'Tierra Kaliente'. Since early 2023 he lives and works in a dance school in Hamburg (Germany) on a 2 year contract.

Daiana David Houelly

Daiana graduated as bachelor of Arts in Cuban folkloric dances from the School of Arts of Bayamo 'Manuel Muñoz Cedeño'. She was endorsed as a dancer in musical shows and performed with the dance companies 'Ballet Folklórico de Oriente', 'Sabor DKY', 'Okan Oni' and 'Cabaret Parisien'.

 

In 2015 she moved to Havana and currently participates in the dance company 'Havana Queens', is a dancer and teacher of the dance company 'Tierra Kaliente' (since its start in December 2015) and works as a teacher in the dance schools 'Baila Habana' (since early 2016) and 'Salsa con Clase' (since December 2018). 

 

With the dance company 'Tierra Kaliente' she went on 3 tours through Europe, each time during 2 months (March to May in 2017, 2018 and 2019). Irianni Kindelan

Irianni is a professional dancer and dance instructor. She works as a dance teacher in the dance school 'Salsa con Clase' since January 2019. She currently lives in Hamburg (Germany).

Yanicel Utria Deya

Yanicel is a professional dancer and dance instructor. She works as a dance teacher in the dance school 'Salsa con Clase' since December 2018.

Luis Manuel Bravo Ramos (Mate)

Luis (also known as ‘Matemático’ or ‘Mate’) graduated with a degree in Physical Education and Sports in Santiago de Cuba. During many years (until 2017) he was a professor and later the head of the sports faculty in the University of Sports 'Manuel Fajardo' in Santiago de Cuba. From 2010 to 2012, he completed a two years mission in Venezuela as a sports teacher.

 

In parallel to his university career, he worked as a dance instructor and was also responsible for a part of the dance education of George Ibar Veranes (Batule) and several other dance teachers in Santiago de Cuba (e.g. Rafael Martinez Santisteban, the owner of the dance school 'Sandunga'). From 2015 to 2017, Luis also imparted dance classes and participated in the performances of the dance school 'Sandunga'. 

 

In 2017 he worked as a dance teacher in Japan for a year (in Osaka, Kyoto and Nagoya) and is back in Cuba since October 2018. He works as a dance teacher in the dance school 'Salsa con Clase' since December 2018 and generally provides classes in Santiago de Cuba and from time to time also in Havana.
